TeachRepublic ("we", "our", or "the platform") is dedicated to empowering independent educators and students with quiet, sovereign classroom tools. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being fully transparent about how your data is handled.

1. Information We Collect

When you use TeachRepublic, we collect minimal information necessary to deliver educational workflows:

Account Information: When signing in with Google, we receive your name, email address, profile picture, and Google UID.
Classroom & Batch Information: Batch titles, class schedules, enrolled student rosters, attendance, homework, and test records created by teachers.
Direct Communications: Chat messages and notices exchanged between teachers and enrolled students within batch channels.

2. Google API Services & Calendar Integration

TeachRepublic integrates with Google Calendar API to allow teachers to automatically schedule tuition batches and invite students to live sessions. Specifically, our application requests the following scope:

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events — View and edit events on all your calendars.

Google API Services User Data Policy Compliance:
TeachRepublic's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

3. Limited Use Requirements & Guarantees

In accordance with Google Limited Use disclosure requirements:

Specific Educational Purpose: We only access Google Calendar to create, update, and remove class batch events, sync Google Meet video links, and invite enrolled students to class sessions.
No Transfer to Third Parties: We do not sell, rent, or transfer your Google user data or calendar entries to any third parties, data brokers, or advertising networks.
No Advertising: We never use or transfer your Google user data for serving advertisements, personalized marketing, retargeting, or promotional content.
No AI/ML Model Training: We do not use Google Calendar user data to train artificial intelligence, deep learning, or general machine learning models.
Human Access Restrictions: No humans read your Google Calendar data unless you have given explicit consent for technical troubleshooting, or when required by applicable law.

4. Data Storage, Encryption & Security

All application communications occur over secure TLS/HTTPS encryption. Data stored in Google Cloud Firestore is encrypted at rest and protected by strict Firestore Security Rules that restrict document access exclusively to verified teachers and enrolled students.

5. How to Revoke Access & Data Deletion

Teachers can disconnect Google Calendar at any time directly from the Teacher Command Center settings. You may also revoke TeachRepublic's access immediately through your Google Account Security Permissions. To request complete deletion of your account and classroom data, please contact our support email below.
